A headhunting firm in Singapore conducted a survey that found that workers in Singapore were stressed, as were those in the Philippines and Malaysia.

In fact, stressed workers could be found in all countries participating in the survey.

The survey also found that a majority of respondents knew that a change of scenery, for example, such as leaving the office for 10 minutes, was a good way to relieve stress.

The survey’s researcher, Jiang Fei Hua, said: “Stress levels mount in the workplace, especially in the office, as this is where workers spend a lot of time doing things that will result in them getting paid.”

“If they stop doing these things called work, they will not get paid. And they will be in trouble.”

Other important findings from the global survey include the discovery that bears hibernating in the woods is a deeply ingrained habit, that the Pope is Catholic and that pigs being too heavy and non-aerodynamic cannot take flight.

Jiang added: “Obviously, we are planning further studies and surveys in the future to share keen insights with our partners and to maintain thought leadership.”

“Unfortunately, we have no idea why we bother to do these kinds of surveys just to appear in the press when obviously no one really remembers who does these sorts of surveys in the first place.”
