A new strain of yeast that causes vaginal infections will be named after Myanmar president Thein Sein. The decision was made by Singapore’s foreign affairs ministry following singtel’s failed bid to build a telecommunications network in the previously reclusive country.

“Not only will be name Thein Sein after an organism that causes smelly vaginas, we will also remove our policy of syncophancy as a diplomacy tool towards Myanmar,” the ministry said in a statement issued late Friday.

Sources within the ministry say that the move was ordered by K Shanmugam, who coined the name Theinsein Chowchibus (singular) himself.

The move to name plantlife after Thein Sein is not a new one- in 2009 Singapore named an orchid after the Myanmar president and in 2012 did the same with his wife.

However this has proven ineffective after Myanmar granted Norway’s Telenor and Qatar’s Ooredoo Telecom permission to make loads of money¬†help the kleptocracy¬†third world country develop its infrastructure, instead of longtime buddy Singtel.

“These people should be grateful for the warmth and love we showered upon them when everyone else condemned them for their human rights violations,” said Singtel spokesperson Wang Enfu Yi.
