And catch up with the rest of Singapore.

Jurong residents are buzzing with excitement as their estate has been earmarked for further development.

This after it was announced that Singapore’s terminus for the High-Speed Rail (HSR) link to Kuala Lumpur would be sited in Jurong East.

One Jurong resident, See Baey Hng, said: “It feels as if the latest developments in Jurong with the new malls and this upcoming terminus is our way of playing catch-up with the rest of Singapore.”

“Jurong has truly advanced by 30 years in the last few years.”

Other Jurong residents are optimistic things can only get better, as the only direction you can go when you have been down, is up.

Tan Ku Gu, a local, said: “The West is now comparable to the East of Singapore. In about another 10 years’ time.”

“The whole vibe of Jurong has changed. It used to feel just like a godforsaken industrial-military base.”

“But now with the High-Speed Rail link to KL, it feels like an industrial-military base with a high-speed railway line terminus to KL.”

“Really can’t wait for another mall to be built alongside the terminus.”

Ritual turned out to be a rain dance.

Singapore was sprinkled with showers across the island on Saturday after more than a month-long dry spell.

This after bomohs in the Kuala Lumpur airport performed a ritual a few days ago, which they believed will help locate the missing MH370 Malaysia Airlines flight that vanished more than a week ago.

However, as typical Malaysians, the bomohs got their rituals wrong.

A Singaporean tang kee, Zho Gong Tao, said: “The bomohs in KL airport used the wrong spell. Instead of locating a lost aircraft, they asked for rain to be brought to Singapore.”

“And as the bomohs performed the ritual several times, which are all, in fact, utilising the wrong spell, they have essentially asked for rain to be brought to Singapore over the next few days.”
