Only PAP MPs ask all the important questions in parliament

The questions they raise are so pertinent, they deserve the $16,000 a month.

So PAP MPs raise more pertinent issues in parliament compared to WP? Really?

So PAP MPs raise more pertinent issues in parliament compared to WP? Really?

So, you’ve read in the news that DPM Teo Chee Hean and PM Lee Hsien Loong have come out openly to say that the Workers’ Party MPs have not been speaking up loudly enough in parliament over the past year and a half.

So much for First World Parliament, right?

Therefore, you’ve no choice but to agree with the prime minister and his deputy: Yes, it is only the PAP MPs who ask all the important questions. Raise all the pertinent points. And debate fiercely. Without fear.

Hmmm ok… did the PAP MPs debate about the casino issue given these days the industry looks like it is about to go tits up?

Or did the PAP MPs debate about homosexuality? Or making adultery illegal?

Did they openly question other PAP MPs about the sale of Town Council software? And AIM?

Ok. Maybe they didn’t because these issues are not important enough for them to raise.

So what’s the biggest deal around? What is so important it takes up precious parliament time?

Let us transport you back to Nov. 17 last year:

Nov. 17, 2012. Home section, The Straits Times, page B17

Nov. 17, 2012. Home section, The Straits Times, page B17

Holland-Bukit Timah GRC MP Christopher de Souza raised the issue of scary TV advertisements because this is such a bread-and-butter issue that affects the livelihoods of so many people and it is so important that The Straits Times have no choice but to publish it…

We can only conclude that the $16,000 PAP MPs make must be so worthwhile that they can only raise such BIG and IMPORTANT issues and make an impact on the lives of everyone.

*slow clap*

Pot calling the kettle black.
