S’porean entrepreneur selling hail ice kachang

HungryGoWhere reviews give it 4/10, say it is “too salty”, “too smoky”.

A budding Singaporean entrepreneur is collecting hail that has fallen on the western part of Singapore and selling it as hail ice kachang.

Zho Seng Li, a foodie-turned-entrepreneur, said the idea of hail ice kachang came to him the moment he got hit on the head by it, repeatedly: “Wah damn pain and I a bit groggy but I’m thinking straight.”

However, Singaporeans have been advised to avoid eating the hail.

On the food review site, HungryGoWhere, reviewers said the hail ice kachang was “too salty” and “too smoky”, and lacked body.

One review read: “The initial taste was unique! It was salty and you can taste like it is ice! But then it became smoky taste so not nice! And then it melted!”

The National Environmental Agency has issued a statement saying hail should not be eaten, unless you are really hungry.
