A Land Transport Authority enforcement officer was caught on video repeatedly punching an elderly Uber driver in the face at the Bugis Junction taxi stand at Victoria Street on Nov. 27, 2015.

The video was recorded by the passenger who booked the Uber vehicle, which had picked her up at the taxi stand where it was not allowed to stopped.

The apparent disagreement arose after the LTA officer behaved aggressively towards the Uber driver in his 50s, who had moments earlier volunteered his particulars to be taken down.

Here are three thoughts Singaporeans have:

sian-half-auntie “It is still preferable to be a violent LTA officer any day than an intolerant anti-gay religious bigot.”
Tong Xing Lian, 44-year-old helmet maker

sian-half-uncle “It is hard to give moral support to public servants when they act this violently.”
Bao Li, 62-year-old ex-martial arts practitioner

happy-bird-girl “No one would have predicted this incident by looking at both men’s PSLE scores.”
Kao Shi, 18-year-old dropout
