Every time Singaporeans see the Christmas decorations go up, it’s time for Deepavali.

Singaporeans from all walks of life, who can sense latent racism in small things in life, have come out to praise shopping malls and retailers.

This after they said the upcoming Deepavali festival is a nice reminder for Singaporeans by and large that Christmas is just round the corner as Yuletide decorations have been put up by end-October.

One Singaporean, Shen Dan Jie, said: “Every time Deepavali comes around, I know it’s time for Christmas again.”

“The malls here never fail to impress me with their Christmas decorations during Deepavali.”

“This brings the meaning of cross-cultural to a whole new level.”

However, other locals said this may be culturally insensitive.

Another local, Bu Ming Gan, said: “Malls in Singapore must be more aware of racial issues.”

“For real fairness, Christmas decorations must be put up during Chinese New Year and Hari Raya as well.”

“That will then be fair.”
