Here are three thoughts Singaporeans have:

sian-half-uncle “I can’t wait to see how it looks like when they fight over wealth.”
Qiong Guan Dan, 63-year-old bankrupt

happy-bird-girl “And we wonder why local women want to date and marry foreign spouse.”

Second Permanent Secretary for Trade and Industry Chee Hong Tat, 41, has resigned from the civil service.

The Public Service Division (PSD) of the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement he submitted his resignation and his last day of service is Aug. 11. This is a sign that he is likely to enter politics in the upcoming election.

Public servants must resign before they can enter politics, and are therefore traditionally last to be unveiled as election candidates by political parties.

Here are three thoughts Singaporeans have:

sian-half-auntie “It must be such a big leap for him going from a cushy job to an even cushier job.”
Ta Nan Ren, 42-year-old headhunter

sian-half-uncle “I heard Michael Palmer’s Chinese name is also called Chee Hong.”
Gao Wai Yu, 62-year-old Batam bumboat operator

happy-bird-girl “Whoever said PAP is a reflection of the candidates that join, boring and predictable, is absolutely right.”
Mei Qian Tu, 19-year-old part-time tuition teacher
