S’poreans allow PM Lee to step down

Posted on 22 June 2017

They graciously allow him to step aside.

Singaporeans from all walks of life, who are fair and just, have given the go-ahead for Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to step down.

This after Singaporeans held a meeting amongst themselves and came to the conclusion that PM Lee is allowed to go anytime he wants, as this is the best decision for the country and him.

One Singaporean, Chao You Yu, said: “After careful consideration of all the facts and opinions in the past week, Singaporeans have taken it upon themselves to go on a search for a new leader.”

“We will graciously allow PM Lee to step down and promise him not to pursue the matter any further the moment he does.”

“He can also then let bygones be bygones.”

However, other locals said it is unfair to him that he has to stay on and be open to criticism and scrutiny when he can easily be a private citizen away from the public eye.

Another local, Shang Bao Zi, said: “We cannot force him to stay because that wouldn’t be the right thing for Singapore.”

“To insist he serve the country because his father used to, is to insist you go to science stream when you clearly are an arts student.”

“That is just uncalled for.”

“This message of, ‘You must do this, or else, no one else would’ is not right.”
