Popcorn shortage in S’pore

Posted on 23 June 2017

More Singaporeans having sore throat.

Singaporeans from all walks of life, who like to eat popcorn and watch drama, have run out of popcorn.

This after they have been eating popcorn non-stop the past one and a half weeks, sparking a popcorn depletion and nationwide shortages.

National reserves of popcorn have also been withdrawn to dangerously low levels, putting the island nation in a deficit, the first time this has occurred since independence.

Analysts are watching the situation closely but have said low popcorn levels are not alarming.

One analyst, Jiak Min Kia, said: “The fact that Singaporeans have time to pay attention to infighting shows that they have free time.”

“This means they are at work, have enough to eat and so can devote resources to paying attention to other minor details.”

“No wonder the economic growth is only 2 percent per annum.”
