Posted on 20 January 2017

A massive bang.

Singaporeans from all walks of life, who like to usher in new things with a bang, are looking to Geylang even-numbered lorongs to bring on the party.

This after they heard the even-numbered lorongs have festivities lined-up when the Year of the Rooster comes along.

One Singaporean, Sio Gan, said: “Roosters are a type of chicken.”

“This place is getting fowl.”

“Not as if it hasn’t already been.”

Other locals said Geylang can take advantage of this coming new year as it only occurs once every 12 years.

Another local, Lai Zuo Ai, said: “Festivities in Geylang will not only be planned during Chinese New Year.”

“There will be a year-long celebration as this is Geylang’s year.”

“The next time it happens again will be 12 years from now.”
