S’poreans wait for Law Minister to make statement about AMK Town Council, integrity

Posted on 31 December 2016

They are looking forward to it.

Singaporeans from all walks of life, who like to be told how and why it is important to live a morally upright life, are waiting with bated breath for the Law Minister to issue a statement about Ang Mo Kio Town Council.

This after the general manager and secretary of Ang Mo Kio Town Council, Victor Wong, has been removed from his duties and is under investigation by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau.

One Singaporean, Bao Jing, said: “I vaguely recall there was a lot of admonitions and talk of morality not too long ago about some other town council issue.”

“Suddenly, I don’t hear much, I don’t feel good or used to it.”

“I think people are dying to hear another lecture.”

Other locals said the lack of sound and fury is understandable.

Another local, An Jing, said: “Sometimes in life, it is best not to say much.”

“If you say too much, you don’t know what will happen in the future also.”
