He was really very stiff.

Singaporeans from all walks of life, who are looking forward to a non-Chinese president, are slapping their heads upon realising their error.

This after they mistook President Tony Tan for doing the Mannequin Challenge when he wasn’t.

One Singaporean, Man Nee Kin, said: “I thought President Tony Tan was so cool and all, giving this newfangled social media challenge a shot.”

“Then I realised he was actually just being himself all along, very stiff and expressionless.”

“I guess he is the real winner in this Mannequin Challenge because he has been at it for years.”

“It was almost as if he wasn’t doing anything.”

Other locals said being a mannequin has its merits.

Another local, Wu Lui, said: “Really breathes new life into the the saying, ‘When you don’t know what to do, do nothing’.”
