Long weekend, every weekend.

Singaporeans from all walks of life are rejoicing as the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has just released the list of 11 public holidays for 2015.

And there will be seven 3-day long weekends next year.

However, for one Singaporean man, he believes every weekend will be a long weekend for him next year.

Baey Kai Chu, a 53-year-old local, said: “I just saw my boss hire two Southeast Asians into the company. I think I’m about to get retrenched before this year is up.”

“While most Singaporeans will have seven long weekends in 2015, I think I will have 52.”

Baey said he does not expect to be hired again anymore and would be exploring Singapore more when he has free time after he is done with work.

He said, forlornly: “I will go around my estate picking up cans and old cupboard.”
