Singaporeans from all walks of life are thanking SingTel profusely.

This after SingTel announced that the World Cup 2014 package will cost $112.

See Baey Kwee, a local, said: “Thank you SingTel for making it $112. Now that almost no one can afford it, it is very exclusive. To be able to watch World Cup 2014 is a privilege.”

Other Singaporeans said the Media Development Authority is also to be thanked for their role.

Zho Seng Li, a Singaporean, said: “If not for the MDA making cross-carriage rules possible, SingTel and StarHub won’t be bidding so much to get exclusive rights.”

“Actually, the State has a stake in both corporations.”

“Wink.”
