Jurong West Secondary School will be expecting a surge in student enrollment next year as it suddenly became a good school.

This after its vice-principal Pushparani Nadarajah, poke PAP at the inaugural AsiaEducationExpo (AEX) 2013 by saying: “How many of our leaders and top officers who say that every school is a good school put their children in ordinary schools near their home? (Only) until they actually do so are parents going to buy (it).”

According to sources, many of the participants who were there and heard the comment stood up and gave a standing ovation for 15 minutes.

One parent, Kee Oh Tng, predicts Jurong West Secondary School will be inundated with appeal letters by parents for their children to be accepted because it has become a good school overnight under the tutelage of the vice-principal: “Jurong West Secondary School is a good school. It has a thinking and fearless leader.”

Another parent, Fan Dui Dang, agreed and said the vice-principal should join Workers’ Party: “If she join Workers’ Party and run in one of the GRCs, confirm win.”
