Religious leaders invited into JEM shopping mall to bless it

Posted on 19 September 2013

This is to prevent more bad things from happening to the new mall that opened three months ago.

After the first-floor ceiling at JEM shopping mall in Jurong East collapsed on Wednesday night injuring three people, safety precautions were taken to prevent further carnage.

The remaining shoppers were whisked out and the management thought of ways to restore the place.

A mall spokeswoman, Kee Shuo Ping, said: “The first thing that came to our minds was to invite the various religious leaders who blessed the F1 race track last week to come in to bless the mall.”

The various religious leaders have established a formidable reputation of making things right again.

The leaders arrived at JEM in the wee hours of Thursday morning and after 10 minutes of prayers they left the premises.

When they left the ceilings were fully repaired and glittering with newness.

Previously, there were two fires at the mall in August, including one at the FairPrice Xtra supermarket.

Three people were hurt when a deep fryer at the food counter in the supermarket caught fire.
