The Straits Times has seen its readership figures appreciate 10 times overnight.

This after it revealed that it is currently using a new method of counting readers, where the quality of readers is superseded by the quantity.

ST’s head of marketing, Sim Mi Sai, said: “It doesn’t matter if the reader cannot actually read. Because there are many readers who read us but also don’t believe, so at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter.”
