Update (July 19, 2013, 1 a.m.): Check out local indie band Pitch Feather’s acoustic cover of the same NDP song.
So, it’s that time of the year again where Singaporeans are getting into a nationalistic mood as August 9 approaches.
And everyone is taking some time to relieve themselves all over the NDP theme song.
Last year’s song featured voices out of The Exorcist.
And then there was the other one that had an MTV that was torn apart by Alfian Sa’at.
And this year, the people who wrote the theme song must have been high on crack.
Regardless, you can hear it for yourself on SoundCloud where it has been been played 70,000 times (as of 3 p.m. on July 18) and has received 15 Likes.
Which means it is as well liked as Hitler.
With SoundCloud’s fancy technology, you can see the types of comments fellow Singaporeans leave behind at appropriate times as the NDP 2013 theme song progresses:
#10 Makes movie reference to Mars Attacks!
#13 Not bad, made it to 1 minute mark
In case you don’t know what London Choco Roll is:
