Indonesian Liverpool fans name hotel ‘Stevie G’

Posted on 26 February 2012

Indonesian Kopites will be checking in to hotel ‘Stevie G’ in the city of Bandung, after Liverpool Captain Steven Gerrard.

The 22-room boutique hotel opened its doors in late 2011 and the owners, Maja House Group, some of whom are fanatical Liverpool fans, opted to name their latest venture in honour of the club’s legendary No.8.

Debbie Winardi, head of Indonesia’s official Liverpool FC supporter’s club, told liverpoolc.tv: “It is known here that the name of the hotel, ‘Stevie G’, is referring to Steven Gerrard as he is very popular here.

“The ‘This is Anfield Room’ got LFC supporters in Indonesia very excited. A lot of my LFC supporter friends are talking about it on Twitter and they are generally very excited about it. People want to experience the room either by staying in it, or just talking photographs.”

“Of course it will be a unique experience for a supporter, staying in a room themed with everything related to LFC.”
