The Voice Singapore is hiatus-triggered.

Singaporeans from all walks of life, who can see similarities in circumstances and recognise unbelievable coincidences, are slapping their thighs and nodding their heads.

This after they realised that The Voice Singapore being open to Mandarin singers only is the same as the Elected Presidency reserved for Malay candidates.

One Singaporean, Hua Ren, said: “Well, well, look at this coincidence.”

“Sounds awfully familiar now, doesn’t it?”

“Seems like The Voice Singapore is not really regardless of race, language or religion, huh?”

Other locals said this is an unhealthy development.

Another local, Yin Du Ren, said: “This is unacceptable. How can we allow this hiatus-triggered sentiment affect our Elected Presidency first and then now The Voice Singapore?”

“We in Singapore must ensure that the hiatus-triggered sentiment is not used to justify keeping out other races.”

“It is true that singing competitions in Singapore have been won at the expense of the Chinese community.”

“But this is uncalled for. The winner will not have the legitimacy to represent all Singaporeans.”
