No PAP MP, minister claimed credit for Joseph Schooling’s bronze medal

Posted on 04 August 2017

This is characteristic of them.

Singaporeans from all walks of life, who recognise opportunists when they see them, have noticed that no PAP MP or minister has come out to claim credit for Joseph Schooling’s bronze swimming medal at the recent World Championships.

One Singaporean, Di San Ming, said: “I was waiting for a few days to see if any PAP MPs or ministers will come out to claim credit for the third place finish as quickly as they claimed credit for Joseph Schooling’s Olympic Gold victory one year ago.”

“It is apparent there was none.”

“So characteristic of them.”

However, other locals said the claiming of credit was not the only thing they were looking out for.

Another local, Fu Zhe Ren, said: “I was waiting for Lee Bee Wah to come out to say if she swam, she would have personally won the gold medal herself.”

“Looks like she is going to. Let’s wait and see.”

“By the way, has anyone seen SIA or McDonald’s yet?”
