Singaporeans from all walks of life, who know what it takes to enhance diplomacy with the United States, are suggesting a brilliant idea that will be a win-win solution after Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong shook hands with President Donald Trump.

Singaporeans said they look forward to converting 38 Oxley Road into the new A&W joint when the fast food establishment comes back in 2018.

One Singaporean, Kuai Chan Dian, said: “This will be a win-win solution for everyone involved.”

“38 Oxley Road will not be used to idolise Lee Kuan Yew, it can be redeveloped and trade with the United States will improve, while Singaporeans can visit the place and enjoy it all the time without political ramifications.”

“A genius idea.”

However, other locals said they are concerned moving too far away from political considerations might backfire.

Another local, Jiak Kway Seet, said: “We all know how enterprising these American franchises and businesses are like.”

“And with a president like Trump in the white house, it will be a matter of time before the 38 Oxley Road A&W starts to sell LKY waffles and Trump wings.”

“Bad.”
