Sunday Times publishes Lee Kuan Yew’s photo twice even though news were not about him

Posted on 23 January 2014

Why not just print all his photos and supplementary read also all just plaster his face?

The Sunday Times on Jan. 19, 2014, has gone above and beyond its duty and responsibility.

Even when there is absolutely no news about Lee Kuan Yew, they will still find some reason to publish his photo.

1. News story is about Indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono launching an 824-page book he wrote, chronicling his life and weird experiences with poltergeists.

Lee Kuan Yew’s photo appears.

In the same paper a few pages down…

2. Some PAP old guard named Lee Khoon Choy lives till 90th birthday.

Lee Kuan Yew’s photo appears again.

This is similar to what happened end of last year, when The Straits Times die die also must put Lee Kuan Yew’s photo even when the article is not even about him.

Why not just print the whole newspaper with his face? 8Days also print. Why cannot?
