Rule scraped, no age limit for S’porean singles to buy flats

Posted on 01 April 2013

Housing needs of singles no longer play second fiddle to married couples.

Singaporean singles will soon be allowed to buy their own HDB flats before they turn 35 as old housing policies that give top priority to married couples are being dumped.

This is in view of the fact that singles who do not have a place of their own continue to stay with their parents and feel like they don’t have a spine.
