North East Line train goes on strike, refuses to stop at Dhoby Ghaut

Posted on 30 November 2012

SBS Transit NEL train shows solidarity with SMRT drivers who were on strike.

Blogfather, Mr Brown, has just updated on Facebook at about 7 p.m. that the North East Line train his wife was on failed to stop at Dhoby Ghaut station.

At about 7 p.m. on Nov. 30, 2011, SBS Transit North East Line train failed to stop at Dhoby Ghaut station prompting talk that the inanimate train is standing in solidarity with the SMRT bus drivers who went on strike earlier in the week.

According to him, passengers were cursing and swearing when the train went past Dhoby Ghaut station without rhyme or reason.

The actions of the NEL train to refuse to do what it is supposed to goes to show that even an inanimate object is capable of understanding what is fair and just.

And it is demonstrating that it is standing in solidarity with the SMRT bus drivers who went on strike this past week by refusing to drive buses to bring attention to their shitty living conditions.

Acting Manpower Minister Tan Chuan-Jin is expected to berate the actions of the NEL train shortly on Facebook.
